Info
This is only a partial list to give a little info on some of our gear
with the occasional comment. Our equipment is subject to change as
we strive to improve.

The
all-tube Manley VoxBox is one of the best
recording combinations available today. The Voxbox is a combination
mic preamp, opto-compressor; mid Pultec equalizer, and peak
limiter/de-esser, and it's not just for voice; it's excellent
on about everything. This one is available for your recording
session

The
Ultimate Front End for High Resolution Recording
The
Pendulum Audio MDP-1 is a modern two
channel vacuum tube Mic/DI preamp designed to be
the ultimate way to get your mic
or source directly to tape or hard disk. Unlike vintage or hybrid
designs, the MDP-1 uses a pure tube, class A high
voltage circuit topology with
a transformerless output stage to deliver an open, intimate sound
with a level of detail that meets the requirements
of the most demanding
recording applications. Our short signal path design excels in
audio performance, delivering extremely wide bandwidth,
low noise, and high
headroom. |

We
have seven original vintage Neve modules in the form of 1272
mic preamps. Here is a description of their characteristics:
-
They
are known to sound amazingly thick and smooth giving a
really fat sound.
It
seems to add sub harmonics to the low end, which makes
the bottom end sound huge.
It
smoothes the top end which gives the highs a silky sheen.
As well the 1272 compresses transients a little bit.
It
is a smooth, fat, larger than life sound.
There
have probably been more hits recorded through Neve mic
preamps than any other mic preamp

4 channels of API 312 mic pre:
|

With
the re-design of the 3124...The circuit is still the original
312 mic pre-amp card, with all of the stuff hooked up for you.
..Many have tried to copy it, but it still wins the shoot outs!!!
API
preamps are classics and everyone uses them. They are punchy,
have great bass and have a clear, extended top end. It is a
powerful "in your face sound" and they don't compress
transients. The low end is tight with good attack. Compared
to the Neve 1272, the API's tone is tight and punchy, and the
Neve 1272 is amazingly thick. The API's HF is more detailed,
and the Neve's are smoother.

The Drawmer DL241 Dual Channel 'Auto-Compressor' highlights
the beginning of a new generation of dynamic processors which set new
standards of
sonic excellence. Its sophisticated design produces a smooth, transparent
and warm sonic performance. We have two of the Drawmer DL 241s
as shown above and also have their DS 404 Quad gate.

The
ADL 1500 tube compressor by Anthony
Demaria Labs is an all-discrete design
providing
phenomenal dynamic range with a clear, punchy, warm,
sound! Its "invisible" compression has made the ADL 1500 a
very in-demand item. Each unit is hand built with the very finest workmanship
available. It has that "Fat" sound.

We also have the Anthony Demaria Labs Stereo Tube Direct box,
and the Groove Tube Ditto tube direct box both shown
above.

The Aguilar DB 900 Tube Direct Box is available for your session. It
has an ultra pristine, minimalist audio path with no gain boost; so
combined with a high-quality mic preamp, the Aguilar DB 900 exhibits
all of the audiophile qualities one could hope for in a piece of pro-audio
gear, delivering a clear, detailed, tightly focused, and well-balanced
sound from deep lows to airy highs. The DB 900 is a favorite DI for
recording electric bass guitar and synthesizer. On bass, the DB 900
offers the best of all worlds: perfectly balanced tone, low noise,
a clear top end with truckloads of nuance and air, and an extended,
tight bottom. You can clearly hear the 12AX7 tube working its magic;
electric bass sounds very rich and warm through this awesome DI. On
a direct box shootout with synthesizer pads, the Aguilar DB 900 dominated
the field, offering by far the richest, most resonant, and clearest
tone of the units tested.

We
have recently installed Apogee converters the AD-16 and DA-16 in
combination with a total recording system change…Nuendo!

This
is considered the ultimate pro audio combination of sonic quality
in a native DAW
recording system. Nuendo is not the standard but many audio pros
say it is sonically superior to what is considered the standard.
Nuendo: "The
premier audio production system."
With
this new technology we have many options available for your session
in the form of audio plug-ins. Universal Audio Plug-ins
are part of our
arsenal for processing your audio files. Here are some of the plug-ins
we have available that just might show up during a mix:

The 1176LN™
Limiting Amplifier
The reputation of this analog classic is well known throughout the
audio industry. Originally designed and built during the 1960's, the
1176LN
was the first to use a field effect transistor (FET) as a voltage controlled
variable resistor, and that innovation was the key to the product's
unique character. An in-depth analysis of the 1176LN's "personality" allowed.
Universal Audio to methodically reproduce those results within a plug-in
architecture,
and now offer that same character to computer-based audio
workstations.

The Teletronix™ LA-2A™
Leveling Amplifier
The Teletronix LA-2A leveling amplifier is practically the definition
of vintage audio gear. The original opto-electrical attenuator
circuit is responsible for the incredibly rich and magic sound embracing
the tracks of so many classic recordings in circulation today. In
an
effort
to bring this product and its character into the world of DAWs,
Universal Audio studied not just the sound, but how each and every
component
interacted and behaved under a full range of studio conditions.
The word, "emulation",
hardly does this plug-in justice. It is in fact a digital copy
of the LA-2A, and upholds all the classic, analog characteristics of
the original
with unprecedented clarity and sound quality.

CS-1™
The CS-1™ Channel Strip provides all the tools you need for recording
and mixing in one simple plug-in (using only one insert!) With a unique
smoothing algorithm for all controls and DSP conserving bypass switches
built-in, The CS-1™ packs a whopping punch into a small package.
Included in the CS-1™ are the EX-1 EQ/Compressor, the
DM-1 Delay Modulator, and the unique RS-1 Reflection Engine.
Of course,
if you don't
need all that power, you can use each module within the CS-1
separately. Use as much or as little as desired for your particular
needs.

Nigel
Nigel offers the latest generation of guitar processing technology
integrated into a complete multi-effects plug-in solution.
Utilizing Universal Audio's
exclusive component modeling technology and intuitive
design, Nigel delivers a complete pallet of guitar tones along
with most
every effect a guitar
player might need, all with minimal latency and no
load on your host computer's CPU. In addition, Nigel's Preflex™ advanced guitar amp
modeling technology goes well beyond the usual pre-amp/amp/cabinet emulators.
In addition to delivering a wide range of highly playable classic amp
tones from the "Clean & Warm" California tube sound to
more metal soaked "British" tones, a bevy
of original timbres simply not possible on any other
guitar
system can be
realized. Preflex
also offers variable morphing between any two amp presets,
truly bringing creative guitar voicing to the next
level

Legendary Pultec Program EQ
The Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer plug-in (included in
Version 2.2.2) is a faithful electronic reproduction
of the classic
hardware equalizer.
The Pultec EQ has long been a choice of recording and
mastering engineers for its ability to bring out individual frequency
ranges without significantly
altering other frequencies. In addition, the Pultec
is one
of those magical pieces of gear that makes audio sound
better - just by
passing through
it. The sophisticated modeling technology used in the
Pultec EQP-1A plug-in captures both of these key characteristics.

DreamVerb, Universal Audio's flagship stereo reverb
plug-in, draws on the unparalleled flexibility
of RealVerb Pro.
Its intuitive and powerful
interface lets you create a room from a huge
list of different materials and room shapes. These acoustic
spaces can be
customized further
by blending or "morphing" the different
room shapes and surfaces with one another, while
the density
of the air can
be changed
to simulate different
ambient situations.
DreamVerb
also features a flexible 5-band active EQ and unique level ramping
for the
early and late reflections for ultra-realistic dynamic
room simulation. And with Universal Audio's proprietary smoothing algorithm,
all parameters can be adjusted in real-time with no "zipper-noise'
or audible artifacts. DreamVerb also features lots of graphic feedback
for the user to understand just how their choices effect the reverb.
From a vibrantly dynamic room to a rich, deep cathedral, DreamVerb is
the reverb of your dreams.
